Poolside Wall Cap Replacement
Replacement of the weathered wood cap on a painted stucco garden wall surrounding a poolside patio. Stripped the failing original top, cut a new painted cap from marine-grade stock, and tied it back into the existing lantern posts with concealed fasteners.
The Challenge
Years of pool splash and sun had warped the original cap and cracked the paint on the lantern posts, but the stucco wall below was still sound — the fix had to sit flush on the existing wall with no visible fasteners from the patio side.
Our Solution
We removed the old cap in full lengths, scribed the new stock to the slight run of the wall, mitered the corner joints tight at the lantern posts, and finished in a teal-matched exterior enamel that reads as a single continuous ribbon along the top.
